The National Book Trust, India participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2018 held from 10th-14th October, 2018 with a collective book exhibit of about 300 titles representing the works of about 40 Indian publishers. The Fair provides an important window to the publishers from India furthering NBT’s objective of promoting Indian books abroad and representing the Indian publishing industry; as well as for promoting– the New Delhi World Book Fair, which is the largest in the Afro-Asian region. This year NBT celebrated 25 years of participation at FBF. The NBT stall was visited by a number of publishers, trade visitors and dignitaries, attracted by the display of both Hindi and English books. Other than books on spiritualism, yoga and self-help; memoirs, autobiographies, and travelogues too received a lot of attention and enquires from the international publishers and rights agents, indicating a greater desire of the readers to read and learn about life and times of the successful personalities. Similarly literature for the children and the young adults is another area that is in great demand. Under the chairmanship of Dr. Baldeo Bhai Sharma, NBT is working tirelessly towards promoting Indian books in India and abroad.
