Globoil India, is an annual conference, exhibition and awards event that focuses on the edible oil and agri-trade industry. The event brings together key players in the oilseeds, edible oil, and feed meal sectors from around the world to discuss various aspects of the industry, including market trends, innovations, challenges, and opportunities.
Globoil India was organized by Tefla’s under the patronage of the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA) at The Westin Mumbai Powai lake, Mumbai. This year, 2023 marked the 26th edition of Globoil India, the prestigious global conference, exhibition and awards event held from 28th to 30th September. The event was back for all those who are part of the oilseeds and vegetable oils market as the conference featured leading industrialists, policymakers, domain experts and analysts who shared their in-depth knowledge and analysis of upcoming developments in the industry.
Mr. Kailash Singh, Managing Director, Tefla’s & Organizer of Globoil, inaugurated the event by his welcome address along with introductory remarks from Sandeep Bajoria, Chairman, Globoil Organizing Committee & CEO, Sunvin Group, Atul Chaturvedi, Chairman, Asian Palm Oil Alliance, Ajay Jhunjhunwala, President, SEA, Angshu Mallick, MD & CEO, Adani Wilmar Ltd, Sanjeev Asthana, CEO, Patanjali Foods Ltd and keynote address by Special Guest Hemant Malik, Whole Time Director & Member, ITC Corporate Management Committee in the presence of chief guest Dr. Jerry Sambuaga, Vice Minister of Trade, Republic of Indonesia.
The 26th edition of the event was attended by a large number of international participants and exhibitors from all over the world. The event also involved participation from business and ministerial delegates from countries such as Singapore, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Brazil and Malaysia. The Business Session – I “Global Soybean Market” of the conference had eminent speakers Andre Nassar, Executive President, ABIOVE Brazil who stated about the growing demands of vegetable oils which could be met by implementing right incentives in the market and Kevin Roepke, Regional Director, South Asia & Sub-Saharan Africa, US Soybean Export Council discussed about the major developments in Soy production. Dr. Julian McGill, Managing Director, Glenauk Economics talked about the Next Important Drivers in the Edible Oil Market.
The attraction of the 26th Globoil Summit was the Globoil Awards and a Grand Felicitation of Exhibitors by the Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan. The Globoil Awards celebrates, recognizes and honours the remarkable accomplishments in the Edible Oil and Agri Trade industry. The Globoil Award ceremony was elevated by the presence of celebrities from Film Fraternity Sonakshi Sinha and Singer Meet Bros who enthralled the audiences with their beautiful songs.
The Globoil India Legend 2023 was awarded to Kanubhai Thakkar, Gokul Agro Resources and Globoil India Man of the Year was presented to Vidya Bhushan, Bunge India. Globoil International Professionals of The Year was awarded to Sandeep Bhan, Sime Darby Oils while Globoil India International Award was awarded to Pratheepan Karunagaran, Apical Group. Globoil Highest Importer of Edible Oils Platinum was awarded to Adani Wilmar Ltd and Globoil Highest Importer of Edible Oils Gold was awarded to Patanjali Foods.
At the conference, Sanjeev Asthana, CEO, Patanjali Foods Ltd moderated the Business Session IV “Global CEOs Meet” with the guest panelist Vipin Gupta, Global CEO, Glentech Ventures Private Limited, Mohd Saleem Kader Bakas, Director, Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad, Pratheepan Karunagaran, Executive Director, Apical Group and Kapil Dev, Chief Business Officer, NCDEX discussed about adhering to sustainable practices for better business opportunities in Edible Oils and Agri Trade sector.
