The 40th Annual General Meeting of India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) was held on September 26, 2017 in the Board Room at its registered office, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Members of ITPO’s Board, including senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry were present in the meeting . In his address at the AGM, Shri L.C. Goyal, Chairman and Managing Director mentioned that it is a matter of great pride that ITPO has achieved the highest ever total income of Rs.388.97 crore during 2016-17. It also earned a record revenue from operations of Rs. 263.14 crore during this year which is the highest during the last five years.
CMD, ITPO mentioned that ITPO is in the process of establishing a world class iconic Integrated Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The proposed Centre will have world class convention and exhibition facilities befitting India’s economic, political and strategic importance and place in the comity of nations. This complex will be a unique symbol of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘New India’.
The project will be completed within 24 months from September, 2017. The execution of the project has been planned in a manner that there would be no hindrance whatsoever to the exhibitions/events being scheduled to be held in the existing AC Halls 7 to 12A in Pragati Maidan. Shri L.C. Goyal also expressed his gratitude to all the shareholders and other stakeholders including Central and State Governments Departments for their continued contribution and support for the success of the company and assured them to make ITPO a better service provider in terms of both quality and delivery.
