Agro Bihar 2019 was organised from 9th – 12th February 2019 at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Bihar. The Department of Agriculture, Government of Bihar has entrusted the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to organise the event with active guidance of the Department.
Agriculture and allied activities are the core sector of the Indian economy and approximately two-thirds of the country’s population is dependent on agriculture either directly or indirectly. Bihar, agriculture is the prime source of wealth and highest employment generation in the state. It is also the key to the development in the India economy. Bihar has a total geographical area of about 93.60 lakh hectare out of which 56.03 lakh hectares is the net cultivated area. This strong agricultural base coupled with economic growth holds significant potential for an industry belongs to agriculture & allied sectors.
Bihar is gradually emerging as a commercial hub in Eastern India due to its large market, abundant labour and raw materials. Now this Trade Fair has achieved the status of Eastern India’s largest Farm Mechanization Fair with footfall of more than 50000 farmers and participation of around 150+ companies which showcase their modern products. AGRO BIHAR spreads in around 27000 sqm of exhibition area and provides opportunities like live demonstration of farm equipments, B2B meetings, Policy Advocacy and KisanPathsala- workshops for farmers on latest agro based technology and farm mechanization.
