Windergy India, a trade fair and conference dedicated to the wind energy sector, is set to return for its sixth edition from 23-25 October 2024 at the Chennai Trade Centre. Organized by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and PDA Ventures Pvt Ltd, this three-day event will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, and stakeholders to drive advancements in wind energy and accelerate India’s renewable energy journey.

India’s ambitious renewable energy goals place wind power at the forefront, with the country ranking fourth globally in wind capacity, boasting 47,192.33 MW as of August 2024. With vast onshore and offshore potential, India is set to scale up wind production to meet its 2070 Net Zero targets. Windergy India 2024 comes at a crucial time, as the government recently approved 1 GW offshore wind projects in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, reinforcing the nation’s renewable energy drive. The event will showcase cutting-edge wind energy technologies and solutions, supporting India’s energy transition.

Windergy India 2024 is set to feature around 300 exhibitors showcasing the latest in wind turbines, components, software, and service solutions from over 20 countries. This premier event offers a unique platform for manufacturers, developers, technology providers, and service experts to come together, connect, and explore new business opportunities in India’s rapidly expanding wind energy market.

Exhibitors from countries including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Singapore, USA, Sweden, UK, and UAE will bring a global perspective to the trade fair, enriching the event with cutting-edge technologies and solutions from around the world.

In addition, the event will feature international pavilions from leading wind energy nations such as Denmark and Spain, with the United Kingdom as the Partner Country. These pavilions will showcase global best practices and innovative technologies, fostering international cooperation and facilitating knowledge exchange to further accelerate the growth of the wind energy sector in India and beyond.

Windergy India 2024’s two-day conference, themed “Wind: Powering India’s Energy Transition”, will delve into the latest developments in the wind sector. The curated sessions promises a series of engaging and forward-thinking discussions on critical topics including paving the future of wind energy in India, innovative auction mechanisms to achieve the country’s 2030 renewable energy goals, and new financing avenues to fuel the green energy revolution post-COP28.

Key sessions will dive into the wind energy supply chain, technology & innovation, advancements in grid technologies, and the offshore wind potential, with a focus on Power-to-X (PTX) solutions for building a more sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure. The conference will also cover emerging trends in offshore wind technology, evolving market dynamics, and the pivotal role of wind energy in helping India meet its climate action goals.

The last day of Windergy India 2024 will focus on the future of India’s wind energy sector, with a special emphasis on students and academia. The day will feature key sessions on Technical Insights to Wind Gearboxes offering a deep dive into the technological aspects of wind energy systems, The Role of Renewable Energy in the Transition to a Green Economy and Creation of Sustainable Jobs through Skill Development, organised by the Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ), National Institute of Wind Energy, Nordex and ZF Wind Power.  This session aims to inspire and equip the next generation of professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to India’s green energy transition.

Coming to the sixth edition, Windergy India 2024 enjoys strong support from government agencies, including the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and NITI Aayog. Industry stakeholders like Envision Energy will associate with the expo as the Platinum Partner, while Everrenew Energy Pvt Ltd, GE Vernova and Suzlon Energy will be the Silver Partners.
