Innovating the Exhibition Industry with Passion, Persistence, and Purpose

ES. Can you share your journey in the exhibition industry and how you transitioned to your current role as CEO of Indian Exhibition Services?

Swadesh Kumar. I started my Journey in 2012 after leaving my job from a MNC exhibition Company with a laptop only , as I left job then decide immediately to organize exhibition , I search the subject very deeply and started Sport India Expo , It was failed continuously for 3 years as exhibitor and visitors point of view but I thought I should go with the spirit of Sport , Sport is not a sport if you lose your game and you do not play again ,A player loose but he never stop play , he play again and one day that player wins, for following this sprit we continue our journey and now we are working on around 20 exhibitions in a year , challenges are always there in exhibition industry but we are growing fastly with the challenges.

ES. What do you consider your most significant contributions to the exhibition industry over the past 12 years?

Swadesh Kumar. I always try to give new subject exhibition to the industry and started many new business platforms like sport, environment, biofuel, biodegradable, salt, recycling electric vehicles, gas industry exhibition those will be very helpful in growth of Indian industrial sector as well economic growth. we have planned some new exhibitions on such a new subject which are not happening in India.

ES. Can you discuss some recent events organized by Indian Exhibition Services? What were the key highlights and innovations introduced in these events?

Swadesh Kumar. In 2024 we organized Biofuel Expo – introduced along with the expo India Biofuel Meet – International Conference on Biofuel industry and Global Biofuel Awards , Salt India Expo – International exhibition on Salt Industry -very new subject – no one introduce this subject exhibition platform in the world and recently we introduce a forum for Sport Good industry along with Sport India Expo that is Sport Goods Manufacturing Forum – A open discussion on the Sports goods Manufacturing Technology . We are trying to offer along with the expo some other and new innovative platform to industry where our participant can share knowledge, exchange the technology and networking for their business growth.

Our next innovation is E- Charge Forum that is focus on Electric Vehicle Charging Technology & Infrastructure Development.

ES. How has technology integration transformed the exhibition landscape in recent years? Can you provide specific examples from your recent events?

Swadesh Kumar. Technology in exhibition industry is the today ‘demand, no one can deliver a success event without help of technology. we applied technology in our recent events and got benefited to get a job deliver very smoothly.

ES. How do you see the role of sustainability evolving within the exhibition industry, and what steps do you believe organizations should take to prioritize sustainable practices in their events?

Swadesh Kumar. I believe sustainability should go with the current industry trends, an organization should focus on values, morality, profit and development along with the sustainable practices.

ES. What future trends do you anticipate in the exhibition industry, especially concerning advancements and the engagement of various stakeholders? How do you think these trends will shape the industry’s evolution?

Swadesh Kumar. Exhibition Industry future is very bright not in India but all over the world, Indian Exhibition organizer should focus now to increase the exhibition size and for this development more than one organization / Association / Entrepreneur should come together to set a trend within the industry and it will work for deliver a quality exhibition to the industry. when More exhibitor and More buyers will join a single platform then this will also be helpful to increase the financial growth of the country.

ES. As a leading professional in the exhibition industry, what advice would you give to newcomers seeking to make a meaningful impact in this dynamic field? What key qualities or skills should they focus on developing?

Swadesh Kumar. Exhibition is very interesting and challenging field , any individual exhibition professional can get name , fame , exposure , contacts , business relation and good money but only required hard working with intelligence , so my advice for newcomer is work hard smartly , do proper research , adopt new technology ,develop sales skills , maintain relation with associates and customer , update yourself always in all aspects like politically and industry wise.
