The India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), a body sponsored by Ministry of
Tourism, Government of India, is pleased to announce the 11th edition of the flagship
event “Conventions India Conclave (CIC)” in Kolkata from 29 – 31 August 2018 at
Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. The Department of Tourism, Government of West
Bengal is the Host State and Supporting Partner. Biswa Bangla Convention Centre,
Kolkata is the Venue Partner for 11th CIC.
While Kolkata is traditionally known for its rich culture and heritage, the objective of
the 11th CIC is to showcase Kolkata as an upcoming MICE destination with multiple
options for organising conference, meetings and exhibitions.
The theme of the Conclave is “Scaling New Heights – Building for the Future”. The
focus area during the Conclave will be on all segments of the MICE Industry – Meetings,
Incentive, Conferences and Events, creating an opportunity for the participants to look
for new avenues of business development. The exhibition and B2B meetings with pre
scheduled appointments will be important components of the Conclave.
Participation of 200-250 delegates is expected to include prominent speakers, domestic
and international buyers, exhibitors, media etc. ICPB is hosting potential meeting
organisers from various countries and from various Indian associations, medical – non
medical, academia, corporate etc. to showcase the various MICE products and services
available in Kolkata and India.
The three days event will be packed with informative sessions and panel discussions on
various relevant topics including ‘Public Private Partnership for Destination
Marketing’, ‘Social Media Marketing: Changing Scenario, Impact on Industry
and Way Forward’, ‘Bidding for International Conferences’ etc. Keynote speaker,
Mr John Martinez, CEO – Shocklogic, UK, an expert in event management technology
along with other international speakers will be sharing their perspective and experiences
during the Convention.
An important highlight of the Conclave will be the launch of the ICPB first State
Chapter in Kolkata during the Conclave on 30 August 2018 to boost the MICE industry
in Kolkata. The 11th CIC is expected to place the state of West Bengal on the MICE
map of India.
