The 2018 edition of the INDSTT’s annual International No Dig India Show was hosted and organized by the Indian Society for Trenchless Technology (INDSTT) on 14th & 15th December 2018 at CIDCO Exhibition Centre, Navi Mumbai. Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai was one of the active main supporters of the event. On December 14 & 15, sixty companies from four continents presented their machines, products and innovative technologies for the Indian subsurface construction industry. With a comprehensive program of technical papers and presentations from around the world, over 1000 leading industry professionals and several international companies present in the CIDCO exhibition hall, No Dig India Show 2018 was a lively event that was appreciated by all those in attendance.
Event Objectives
For the last one and a half decades efforts of INDSTT have helped to establish trenchless technology in the nation and the actions have nurtured its growth. No Dig India Shows have been instruments of this growth mechanism as they have provided opportunities for scientific discussions, technology promotion, networking and publication of multiple guidelines, both technical as well as commercial.
Seven publications were released during the inaugural ceremony. After the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Niranjan Swarup, Director General, INDSTT, set up the conference agenda and address the gathering on the importance and measures taken up by the INDSTT for the Advancement of Trenchless Standardization followed up by the 12 technical session where leading experts from national and international arena share their experiences with Indian Stakeholders. During the conference, there were three concurrent workshops held on Subsurface Utility Engineering, Spiral Wound Lining and Advance Steering Tools for HDD. The Exhibition was a success wherein 94 stands & open display space of various Trenchless equipment and products were displayed by the exhibitors. Total of twenty-five HDD rigs were put on live demonstration by the exhibitors along with live demonstration of other trenchless equipment. The exhibition was visited by numbers of visitors who got the first-hand information and feel of the various Trenchless equipment and their usage.

Positive outlook for the next show
In coming decades, India is expected to become the largest market for the global subsurface construction industry. This growth is mainly attributable to large infrastructure, sanitation and energy projects. In addition to that rehabilitation and renewal of aging subsurface infrastructure is expected to see a massive increase in over the next five years. To facilitate this ever-growing need of the Indian subsurface construction industry, No Dig India Show is imperative. The next No Dig India Show 2018 will take place in 2019 in Delhi-NCR.
