The highly anticipated Asia’s Broadcasting & Infotainment Show (A.B.I.S.) 2024 has officially commenced today, running from October 17-19 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. Organized by NuernbergMesse India, this event promises to be a transformative platform, uniting over 27,000 professionals and 500+ brands to showcase the latest innovations in the Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry.

Driving Industry Transformation

With the Indian M&E sector expected to grow at an annual rate of 10%, A.B.I.S. 2024 highlights the ongoing digital revolution, the resilience of traditional media, and the impact of emerging technologies. This year’s event focuses on the dynamic shifts occurring within the industry, driven by rapid digital integration and the increasing significance of digital media.

The Indian M&E industry has consistently outpaced the country’s GDP growth, achieving an impressive 8% increase in 2023. While traditional media—such as television and radio—continues to dominate with vast reach (800 million and 400 million consumers, respectively), digital media has established itself with 600 million users, setting the stage for explosive growth.

A.B.I.S. 2024 offers attendees the opportunity to engage in impactful conferences, product launches, and networking opportunities. Participants can expect in-depth discussions on the future of broadcasting, content creation, and digital media, providing crucial insights into industry trends and innovations.

The event will spotlight significant advancements in broadcasting technology, including AI, IP-based workflows, cloud solutions, and equipment innovations. AI, in particular, is a trending topic, with discussions centered around tools for metadata tagging, video editing automation, and audience analytics.

A.B.I.S. 2024 will feature various showcases, including product launches and technical demonstrations. The Broadcast India Show will emphasize key innovations in broadcasting, focusing on the shift from traditional SDI workflows to more accessible IP-based systems, which broaden the talent pool and enhance agility and cost-efficiency for broadcasters.

Cloud technology is set to play a pivotal role, with hybrid solutions that combine public and private infrastructures, allowing broadcasters to manage peak demands while optimizing costs and maintaining data security.

The BROADCAST INDIA Conference will feature three days of discussions on trending topics, while the CONTENT INDIA Conference will provide an interactive platform for exploring complexities in film acquisition and distribution. Additionally, the SCAT India TradeShow will offer unparalleled networking opportunities in the satellite and broadband sectors.

India’s Global Content Creation Hub

India’s M&E sector produces an astonishing 200,000 hours of content annually, captivating audiences in over 160 countries. The nation’s growing talent pool in content creation, post-production, VFX, animation, and gaming positions India as a global hub for the creative industry. With projections indicating a move toward a billion active screens by 2030, innovation in content creation, distribution, and monetization strategies will be essential for sustaining growth.

Sonia Prashar, Chairperson of the Management Board & Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India Pvt Ltd, stated, “Our goal with A.B.I.S. 2024 is to foster innovation and collaboration within the industry.
