ALUCAST Was Themed “Emerging Trends in Die Casting Technology”

ALUCAST 2018 held from 6th-8th December, 2018 is a biennial exhibition held at IEML, Gr. Noida this year and caters to the Aluminium Die Casting Industry. Organised by NürnbergMesse India Pvt. Ltd. along with Aluminium Casters’ Association of India, the show saw a participation of of around 150 exhibitors from more than 15 countries including Germany, Switzerland, Canada & Italy. Aluminium die casting, aluminium recycling, automation of casting process, melting practices and metal treatment, post casting operations, heat treatment specialists, die manufacturers, environmental regulations, health and safety, human resource management were some of the exhibiting sectors at the expo; covering a total of 8000 sqm. exhibition space.

The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of Prasan Firodia, President Alucast, Zubin Kabraji, Secretary Alucast, Dr. Pradeep Pawar, Supreet Jain, Chairman, Delhi Zonal Centre, Ujjwal Munjal, Trustee ALUCAST and Sonia Prashar, Managing Director, NürnbergMesse India.

According to a report by IBEF, India has overtaken the United States to emerge as the second largest producers of casting, behind China from last year. “The production in the country stood at 11 Million tonnes, valued at 19 Billion U.S Dollars in 2017, behind China, which produce 40 million tonnes,” said IIF President, Amish Panchal.

He said aluminium castings contributed 15 per cent of the total casting production and added that the segment was likely to grow further as automobile manufacturers were focusing on reducing weight of the vehicles, including engines and doors.
The theme for the event this year is “Emerging Trends in Die Casting Technology.”

Indian auto-components industry is expected to register a turnover of US$ 115 billion by FY 20–21 and US$ 200 billion by 2026. This augurs well for the die-casting Industry as the auto industry accounts for 70 percent of the consumption. Sonia Prashar, Managing Director, NürnbergMesse India is optimistic about the development of the event and the Industry “With a 20% percent growth over last edition, ALUCAST 2018 promises to be bigger and better than before. These impressive numbers correspond to the growing importance of the die casting industry in India. At ALUCAST, we offer a business platform which gives participants an opportunity to showcase their latest products and technology and network with a global audience.”

Product presentations were made on Importance of Density Index in Die Casting, Total Thermal Vision & Industrial Waste Water Recyling System amongst others. Some of the presenters were from countries like Italy and Germany.

The event also became an occasion to felicitate and reward Foundries that have shown outstanding performance in the year gone by. The 2020 edition of the show will be held in Chennai.
