At the South Asia Leading Travel and Tourism Exhibition 2025 in New Delhi, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh assured investors of comprehensive support to boost the state’s tourism sector. He emphasized that the AP government has officially recognized tourism as an industry, ensuring it receives the same incentives and subsidies as other sectors. Durgesh stated that Andhra Pradesh is strengthening its tourism sector with a goal of attracting ₹25,000 crore in investments over the next five years.
The Minister highlighted the state’s strategic approach to boosting its tourism sector, emphasizing a focus on various areas including temple tourism, adventure tourism, eco and wellness tourism, heritage and religious tourism, agri-tourism, medical tourism, as well as cruise, beach, coastal, seaplane, rural, and film tourism.
“Andhra Pradesh boasts an abundance of natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage, positioning it as a top destination for both domestic and international tourists. The government has introduced policies designed to attract investment, including granting industry status to tourism and extending industrial incentives and benefits,” he stated.
He also outlined that the new Tourism Policy (2024-29) aims to create tourism circuits and anchor hubs, develop world-class tourism infrastructure, and attract international tourists and tour operators.
