ES. How does HTS tentiQ ensure the quality and durability of its products, particularly in challenging environments?

Christoph Röttges. HTS TENTIQ is working according German specifications, which are demanding. This can be seen as a strong basis for applications in all regions and countries. Engineering modifications to local requirements ensure full functionality and usability in all use cases and all environments. Our temporary lightweight buildings are engineered to manage difficult conditions and we have solutions in place to withstand even extreme situations in wind load, snow load or on difficult ground. Multiple options for ground anchoring can manage all soil conditions without compromising robustness, installation speed or flexibility in removing the product to another location.

ES. Could you highlight some notable projects that HTS tentiQ – ClearSpan has undertaken in the past in India?

Christoph Röttges. We have supplied many 30, 40, and 60m structures in 2023, together with 15m and 20m units. In total we have delivered over 250,000 sqft of structures so it has been a busy year. We have also supplied customized tents for semi-permanent installation for M/s Bennett University at Gr Noida, and are currently working many other special projects such as a structure for M/s Adani Ports at Mundra Port.

ES. In what ways does HTS tentiQ prioritize sustainability and eco-friendliness in its manufacturing processes?

Christoph Röttges. In general, our aluminum lightweight products offer huge benefits in weight savings. Lightweight technology is a significant effect in CO2 and money savings because of manufacturing speed, material transportation, handling of structures and installation equipment needed on the ground. Not to forget recyclability; in fact aluminum structures are going into material reuse after decades of a product life cycle. Means, lightweight buildings already contribute a lot to eco-friendliness. But beyond that, one of the key topics our engineering team is working on, reflect serious sustainability questions all building related industries have to deal with: Energy efficiency in use, driven

by smart energy supplies and thermal insulation features. And there is still a lot to do for the temporary building industry.

ES. What are the key factors that clients consider when choosing HTS tentiQ for their temporary structure needs?

Christoph Röttges. As mentioned before, technical performance, quality products and local service is key to convince customers to work with HTS Clearspan. Our teams are working hard to exceed customers expectations every day. And that’s what clients sense when HTS and ClearSpan are coming into play. We are not a low cost player and we do not want to be in that segment. There are other players active in that market segment but we do not believe this creates sustainable value to our customers.

ES. How can the tent and temporary structure industry navigate its key challenges through inventive approaches and solutions?

Christoph Röttges. Markets are changing and business models have to be flexible to cope with challenges coming ahead very fast. For industry applications, permanent buildings are cost intensive and time consuming in planning and realization, suitable ground is rare and often does not perfectly fit to fast changing business models of an enterprise. Temporary buildings fill the gap and offer attractive solutions to manage cost and time constraints and provide flexible space solutions independent from locations. The event segment is demonstrating how flexibility can support business models – fast installation and totally flexible in managing multiple venues. Such concepts can be applied to other segments – temporary warehouses and distribution centers for the logistics industry or temporary exhibition and convention locations for the trade fair segment, for example. Not to forget the increasing need of immediately available buildings and accommodation solutions following natural disasters and regional crisis.

ES. How do you envision expanding your company’s presence within the Indian market?

Christoph Röttges. The HTS ClearSpan project is recently taking speed in market cultivation in India. Highest priority is to support local customers with suitable products and outstanding service. Our local sales team will be increased and backed with engineering resources from Germany and China. There will be no project request in India we cannot offer a suitable solution. Whenever the market is ready for more local content, we are ready to install local capabilities that drives value for everybody involved.
