Over the last 5 years, Exhibition Showcase has pulled together meticulous research and rigorous benchmarking methodology, to honor the champions of Indian Exhibition & Convention Industry. As the Exhibition Excellence Awards 2020 was scheduled earlier in March but they had to be postponed last minute due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the 5th edition of EEA 2020 had to be scheduled virtually. On 29th December 2020, Exhibition Showcase brought together global industry leaders to reveal the winners in 57 nomination based categories for exhibition organisers, conference organisers, service providers and event venues.
This year there were also 2 special awards under the Editor’s Choice category. A supremely experienced jury from diverse backgrounds and internationally renowned exhibitions advisory firm JWC did a meticulous job in shortlisting the final grand winners at EEA2020. The show kick-started with the song Muskuraega India, which was envisioned by Exhibition Showcase and released amid the pandemic to motivate the fraternity as a ‘Tribute to the Indian MICE Industry’; which is the catalyst to nation’s economic growth and harbinger of business tourism. Chief Guest, Sh. Prahlad Singh patel, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Tourism Government of India, sent his video message to congratulate the winners at EEA2020 and expressed his best wishes to Exhibition Showcase for playing a critical role in the industry. He reiterated that the role of exhibitions is crucial in attracting the business tourists nationally and internationally.
A Mega Initiative for the Indian Exhibition Industry
Over 800 exhibitions are held in India across a wide range of industries, each year. Exhibitions are the catalyst to the nation’s economic growth and they promote national initiatives like ‘Make In India’, ‘Start-Up India’ & ‘Skill India’. Exhibition Organisers, Service Providers and Venues work tirelessly to make events happen. The Exhibition Excellence Awards are an initiative to recognise the unsung heroes of the Indian exhibition industry and to acknowledge their contribution. The Exhibition Excellence Awards 2020 were supported by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of MSME, NSIC, PHDCCI, Indian Exhibition Services Association, Indian Industries Association, Indian Convention Promotion Bureau, Event & Entertainment Management Association, TCEI, PIOCCI and several other national industry associations.
Esteemed Jury Panel
Internationally renowned exhibition advisory firm JWC Consulting had been appointed as the Process Advisors & Evaluators for the Exhibition Excellence Awards 2020. An expert panel of jury comprising of leading professionals from diverse backgrounds was set up to oversee the nomination process and make it completely fair and transparent. jwc is a management consultancy firm focusing on the trade fair and conference business as well as related business areas. jwc was founded in 2008 by Jochen Witt, former President & CEO of Koelnmesse and President of UFI. Over that last 10 years the company grew strongly and today jwc is active in all relevant trade fair countries of the world.
