The 28th edition of New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF), held for the past 48 years, is a major calendar event in the publishing world. NDWBF 2020 is scheduled from 4-12 January 2020 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The fair is organised by National Book Trust, India, an autonomous organisation of the Government of India under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the nodal agency of the Government of India under the Ministry of Commerce, is the co-organiser of the fair. The fair attracts participation from major publishing houses across the globe. In 2019, the fair, spread over an area of 24,000 sq mt, attracted more than 800 Indian Exhibitors and about 40 Foreign Exhibitors. The theme of 2020 edition of the fair is titled Gandhi: The Writers’ Writer, which will, on the one hand, underscore the influence of Gandhi on Indian literature and some major authors of India and abroad, and will also bring into focus the aspects of Gandhi as a writer, editor, journalist, publisher, printer, a mass communicator par excellence.
