Globoil Asia 2024, a pivotal gathering for the edible oil and agri-trade industry is being held from 18- 20 January 2024 at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Bangkok. This conference, exhibition and awards is uniquely positioned to facilitate dynamic networking opportunities and discussions that are crucial for shaping the future of the edible oil and agri-trade sector.
Globoil Asia 2024 is showcasing around 50 stalls from a multitude of countries including China, various African nations, Italy, the USA, and several South Asian countries. Exhibitors like Myande, ARISE IIP, CMB, Sea Trade, City Commodities, TVM Edible Oil Refineries, Arvee Group, Bajaj Earths, JJ-Lurgi Engineering, RSPO are some the major participants in the event.
The conference commenced with a welcome address by Kailash Singh, Managing Director of Tefla’s, setting an insightful tone for the conference. The inaugural session featured a series of introductory addresses from notable industry figures. Atul Chaturvedi, Executive Chairman of Shree Renuka Sugars and Chairman of the Asian Palm Oil Alliance, shared his expertise alongside Arun Raste, Managing Director & CEO of NCDEX. Sandeep Bajoria, CEO of Sunvin Group and Chairman of the Globoil Organising Committee, and Asanee Mallamphut, Managing Director of Sime Darby Oils Morakot, also provided valuable perspectives. Further enriched the dialogue, Ajay Jhunjhunwala, President of SEA, Sanjeev Asthana, CEO of Patanjali Foods & Vice President of SEA, Dr. Inke van der Sluijs, Director of Market Transformation at RSPO, and Sudhakar Desai, President of IVPA & CEO of Emami Agrotech. Special addresses were delivered by Rohit Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, Thinley Namgyel, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock, Government of Bhutan, and Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre. It featured Maximo Torero Cullen, Chief Economist of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The Guest of Honour for the event was Prayoon Inskul, Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperation. The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. B.V. Mehta, Executive Director of SEA, acknowledging the valuable contributions and participation of all the dignitaries and delegates.
