India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), the country’s one of the largest integrated convention and exhibition center, is preparing to host a series of high-profile international events this year, further solidifying its position as a premier destination for global trade and business. The center, which spans 58 acres and boasts 2.5 million square feet of built-up space, is set to welcome thousands of visitors and exhibitors over the coming months.
The upcoming events include the UP International Trade Show (September 25-29, 2024), Electronica India (September 11-13, 2024), Renewable Energy India Expo (October 3-5, 2024), and the IHGF Delhi Fair (October 16-20, 2024). These gatherings are expected to attract key players from various industries, providing a platform for B2B and B2C engagement, showcasing innovations, and facilitating international trade.
IEML’s upcoming UP International Trade Show will focus on promoting products from Uttar Pradesh, including One District One Product (ODOP) items and those with GI tags, offering a unique opportunity for global buyers to connect with local manufacturers. The event is part of the venue’s broader strategy to support regional industries and showcase Indian craftsmanship on the world
stage.
IEML plans to expand with a new Expo Mart on 200 acres in Sector 8, focusing on handicrafts and furniture. Aiming to be South Asia’s largest Exhibition, Convention, and MICE project, the proposal has received in-principle approval from YEIDA for a feasibility study on construction and revenue strategies.
As part of its sustainability initiatives, IEML has placed a strong emphasis on energy-saving measures at its existing venue. A 3MW Solar Power Generation plant, installed on the rooftops of the exhibition halls, has been a significant contributor to reducing the venue’s carbon footprint.
The vision behind IEML’s continued growth can be credited to Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of IEML, who has been instrumental in conceptualizing India’s first premier exhibition and convention center in Greater Noida.
“IEML is evolving into an integrated exhibition player, enhancing venue capabilities and specializing in event conceptualization and communication. With plans to manage additional venues and host numerous shows, IEML is set for significant expansion and innovation. IEML’s focus is on scaling up infrastructure to accommodate larger events, integrating advanced technology, and enhancing service quality. The addition of the ExpoInn Suits is a step towards providing an integrated venue experience, positioning IEML as a leader in the sector”, he said in an interview with Exhibition Showcase.
The concept of an integrated hotel within an exhibition venue is a rarity in India, and IEML stands out as a pioneer with ExpoInn Suites & Convention. Barun Gupta, General Manager of ExpoInn Suites & Convention, has played a crucial role in bringing this concept to life. With over 15 years of experience in the MICE industry, he recognized the challenges faced by guests attending trade fairs, particularly the inconvenience of commuting between hotels and event venues.
