IHGF TEXTILES VIRTUAL FAIR CONCLUDES AFTER FOUR SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS DAY

New Delhi – 19TH  June, ’20  –  The second virtual fair on IHGF Textiles concluded successfully today with visit of  over 1500 overseas buyers, buying agents, wholesalers and retailers generating serious business enquiries worth Rs. 270  crores said Shri Ravi K. Passi, Chairman – EPCH. Buyers from 80 countries visited the virtual show with countries like Australia, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, USA, UK, Spain, New-zeland, Canada, UAE, Turkey, Japan, Israel, Germany and France had the maximum participation.

Shri Passi further said that back to back organisation of virtual fairs was result of the pandemic thus enabling the Council to provide a viable alternative platform to exporters to do business since the organisation of physical fairs is currently not possible.

Shri R.K. Verma, Executive Director – EPCH informed  that the participants of Home furnishing, floor coverings and textiles who have taken part in the show have opined that this virtual platform have provided them the opportunity to survive in the business as the buyers who are unable to travel to any country have also visited the  virtual fairs by sitting in the comfort of their homes/offices.

Webinars, craft demonstration and theme setting on trends were the highlights of the IHGF-Textiles fair virtual.

The exports of home furnishing, floor coverings and textiles  these items accounts 25% in the total exports of handicrafts from the Country which was around Rs. 6200 crores in 2019-20 further  informed Shri R.K. Verma, Executive Director – EPCH.

Shri Verma, ED- EPCH expressed hope and confidence that with the successful organisation of two back to back virtual fairs will definitely motivate the other members of the Council to take part in 49th edition of IHGF-Delhi fair which is also scheduled to be held on virtual platform from 13 – 18 July, ‘20.  He added that EPCH has done extensive publicity to invite the buyers from across the world to visit the show through e-blast, tele-calling and involving Indian Missions and Embassies abroad.

On last day of the show, Ajay Shankar Awards for best stands set up at virtual fair were also distributed in home furnishing and floor coverings.

Recipients of Ajay Shankar Memorial  awards In HOME FURNISHING CATEGORY were :

Gold award was given to M/s Khatritex, Jaipur, Rajasthan.  Mr  Ramesh Khatri and Mr. Mukul Khatri received the award.

Silver award went to M/s Swift Corporation Limited, Gurgaon, Haryana, Mrs. Harsimran Kaur, MD and Ms. Keeratdeep Kaur, Director received the award.

Bronze award went to M/s Sava International Pvt. Ltd, Gurgaon, Haryana, Mr. Anuj Khanna received the award [ photo – 3] & M/s Airwill Home Collections Pvt. Ltd.  Mr. Karthik, Mr. Balu and Mr. Senthil .received the award.

Recipients  of Ajay Shankar Memorial  awards In FLOOR CATEGORY  were :

Gold award given to M/s Bhadohi Carpet, Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh.  Mr. Pankaj Barnwal & his team received received the award.

Silver award went to M/s Vasons & Vasons, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.  Mr. Kushagra Vasan  received the award.

Bronze award went to two companies i.e. M/s Overseas Carpets Limited, New Delhi.  Mr. Pankaj Garg received the award & m/S Rugs Creations, Panipat, Haryana.  Mr. Gaurav Chug and Mr. Vinay Chug received the award.
