India And Pakistan Artists Unite To Showcase Their Talent At Dubai Art Fair

Though, India and Pakistan tensions are rife due to the recent wave of terrorist attacks in the Kashmir valley, an art exhibition in Dubai helped create a neutral space for all artists to thrive. Art explains where words are unable to speak. The annual art season in Dubai and Sharjah has become a vibrant market for Indian and Pakistan based artists. World Art Dubai exhibition held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from April 03 to April 06. The idea of the exhibition is to unite global artists with Dubai’s International community. More than 3,000 pieces of art from 150-plus artists and galleries were on display at this year’s World Art Dubai. There was not only photography. The ongoing Sharjah Biennial too features works by Indian artists Rohini Devasher and Nalini Malani alongside those of Pakistani artist Anwar Jalal Shemza, and London-based multimedia artist of Indian and Pakistani origin Shazad Dawood. One of the gallery founders named Amrita Jhaveri said that the gallery tries to focus on a broad spectrum of work rather than talking about countries from where the artists come.
