India’s Tejas gets a fan following in LIMA 2019

The 15th Edition of The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2019 – A biennial exhibition, dedicated to the Maritime and Aerospace sectors for Defence, Civil and Commercial Applications was held successfully from 26th – 30th March 2019 at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), Langkawi, Malaysia. LIMA is the leading event dedicated to this industry in the Asia-Pacific region. LIMA continues to be a major focal point for industry players and key decision makers representing Asia’s rapidly growing markets. Turkey was the largest international country pavilion followed by Russia, UK, China, France and Germany – a total of 12 Country Pavilions.

Tejas

HAL Tejas from the Indian Air Force made its maiden appearance at LIMA`19 and performed for daily airshow together with Jupiter from Indonesia and the Royal Malaysian Air Force.

RE Rogers India successfully handled the Tejas project. Speaking to Exhibition Showcase, Ravinder Sethi, Managing Director, RE Rogers India, said, “ HAL’s live display of the Tejas for the first time in an overseas exhibition. We handled the work – proud to be an Indian!”

 

The Indian Air Force which is looking at greater interaction with the Malaysian Air Force departed  two IAF Tejas jets from Kalaikunda to participate in LIMA.  The ‘Made-in-India’ fighter jet having the capability to fly at speeds of over 2,000 kmph, and a range of around 3000 kilometres initiated a lot of interest in Malaysia.

At the previous LIMA`17, the event hosted 371 delegations from 49 countries comprising ministers, senior government officials, military decision makers and commercial aviation executives as well as witnessing a participation of 555 companies from 36 countries covering a total occupied area of 119,209 square meters.
