The Indian Gems and Jewellery sector, the largest globally, contributing around 29% to global jewellery consumption and one of the leading contributors to the national economy, needs significant reforms and support. Thankfully, the Union Budget 2022-2023 included positive measures such as reducing customs duty on cut and polished diamonds and gemstones to 5% and an extension of ECLGS for MSMEs that will help the industry’s overall growth in the coming year. With our legacy of successful expos in the North and South, we aim to facilitate the buyer and seller community in Bihar and the neighbouring states to build quality business relationships on a Pan-India scale. This expansion will be a step towards supporting and amplifying jewellery trade and introduce trends from different parts of the country in the North and East India cluster.”
