Jörn Holtmeier) has taken over his new role as managing director of AUMA – the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry. He had previously worked for the Daimler Group as Deputy Head of the Corporate Representative Office for Federal Affairs in Berlin, focusing on transport and environmental policy.
Jörn Holtmeier is looking forward to his new responsibilities: ‘The exhibition industry is a very exciting international business that extends into almost all areas of the German economy as well as fields of policy. My experience in representing business interests will be especially valuable here. I’m pleased to be able to work with a highly motivated team on promoting current topics in the exhibition industry.’
Holtmeier’s predecessor, Dr. Peter Neven, retired at the end 2019. He joined AUMA in 1988, becoming managing director and head of the Trade Fairs Germany division in 1990 and sole managing director in 2006. In late 2017 he was appointed CEO. At the start of his period in office, Neven devoted special efforts to reunifying the German exhibition industry and to further developing programmes to promote German exhibitors at both domestic and foreign events. He also extended AUMA’s network and competences in research and education.
AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, has 73 members, including 38 industry associations representing exhibitors, visitors and service companies, as well as 35 exhibition organisers.
