US EIA’s International Energy Outlook 2023 projects natural gas consumption to more than triple in India by 2050. According to their report, India’s net natural gas imports are expected to grow from 3.6 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in 2022 to 13.7 Bcf/d in 2050, a 4.9 per cent average annual increase, on account of rising demand from the industrial sector particularly fertilizers and oil refineries. The share of natural gas in the energy basket is expected to go up from 6% to 15% by 2030. Looking at the rising demand, the forum will act as an ideal platform to assist the industry in envisioning the future of Natural Gas beyond 2050.
