Lucknow is set to welcome a new International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre featuring world-class facilities aimed at hosting events of national and international significance. The ambitious project will be developed jointly by the Housing & Development Board and the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), with financial backing from the state government.

During a meeting with senior government officials, plans for the centre were thoroughly discussed, focusing on its construction process, format, and overall cost. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for a high-tech, well-equipped venue that not only hosts significant cultural, political, state, and religious events but also musical concerts, all while maintaining grandeur and dignity.

The convention centre will be strategically located on 32 acres of land in Vrindavan Yojana, the same site where the Defence Expo took place in 2020, offering excellent connectivity from various directions. Designed to accommodate approximately 10,000 attendees, it will feature multiple auditoriums, meeting rooms, and VIP lounges.

Incorporating elements of Indian culture, the architecture of the centre will also serve as a model for water and energy conservation. A central attraction will be the unique ‘Panch Vatika,’ showcasing the five elements, which will be a focal point within the expansive complex.

Additional features of the convention centre will include dedicated parking facilities for small, large, and heavy vehicles, as well as provisions for fire safety, restrooms, and a food court. Moreover, the centre is expected to permanently showcase Uttar Pradesh’s One District One Product (ODOP) items, alongside local cuisine, folk art, and folk music. The importance of effective crowd management was also highlighted, ensuring that such considerations will be integral to the design and layout of the exhibition hall.

With a projected timeline of two years for construction, the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre in Lucknow aims to become a hub for diverse events and a significant contributor to the region’s economic development.
