The Supervisory Board of Messe Berlin GmbH has announced the premature extension of Managing Director Dirk Hoffmann’s contract for an additional five years, securing his leadership role until 2030. Hoffmann, who has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since 2015 and was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) in September 2023, plays a crucial role in guiding the company alongside Chairman of the Management Board, Mario Tobias.
Franziska Giffey, from the Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe in Berlin, highlighted Hoffmann’s significant contributions to the successful revival of Berlin as a premier trade fair and congress destination following the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. She emphasized that Hoffmann’s extended tenure will ensure continuity in leadership as Messe Berlin navigates upcoming challenges, including the modernization of its facilities and the expansion of its trade fair portfolio.
Dr. Eric Schweitzer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, expressed his satisfaction with the contract extension, noting Hoffmann’s extensive expertise and strategic vision. He underscored the company’s commitment to further enhancing Messe Berlin’s event offerings and its growth on both national and international stages.
With this strategic move, Messe Berlin GmbH aims to build on its recent successes and continue its trajectory as a leading economic driver in the region.
