Chennai IESA Expo Shop was held on 21st & 22nd September, 2018 in Chennai. The event was organised by Indian Exhibitions, Conferences & Event Services Association (IESA) Chennai Chapter in association with EEMA and powered by Wings Convention Centre. The key objective behind Chennai IESA Expo Shop 2018 was “Destination Chennai” to be a critical platform to take event industry growth in Chennai to the next orbit, through awareness creation, practical demonstration and productive interactions between various industry stakeholders. The industry represented in Chennai India Expo Shop 2018 included events, exhibitions, conferences and weddings. And through this Expo, IESA created widespread awareness about the opportunities in the Tamil Nadu events and exhibitions industry.
The two-day expo was inaugurated by “Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali – Dewan to Prince of Arcot, in the presence of VR. Subbulaxmi – Managing Director, Chennai Trade Centre, special invitees, Sanjeev Pasricha – Executive Vice President, EEMA, Gp Capt. R Vijay Kumar (retd.), VSM – Executive Director, Madras Management Association and Arun Samuel, Chairman & Managing Director, Wings Group of Companies (Convention Centre), Surinder Vasisht – General Secretary IESA and Tarun Sardana – Treasurer IESA. Also, Sunttosh NM – President, S John Prabhu – Secretary, Goutham – Treasurer, James Anandh – Vice President, Arjun – Joint Secretary from IESA Chennai Chapter, and many other eminent personalities from the events community of India were present at the venue.
The event was attended by around 2000 business visitors. The aim of the organisers was to create a unique experience for all event enablers of Chennai to come together and discuss various investment opportunities, potential and scope in event industry in the southern market.
There were over 200 exhibitors at the expo, including event management companies, structure suppliers, stall fabrication ag encies, carpet providers, power suppliers, exhibition media firms, entertainment services providers, safety equipments, stage lights & audio systems, etc. Sanjeev Pasricha, CEO, CS Direkt and Executive Vice President at EEMA talked about the synergies in events and exhibitions. He stressed on the upsurge of ‘Experiential’ factor in exhibitions through innovation & technology. Today corporate exhibitors want to give experiences to the visitors at their stalls.
