Saras Ajeevika Mela 2022 Gets Off To A Great Start In Noida Haat

Visitors will get to enjoy the sale-cum-exhibition of the finest handloom and handicraft products as well as regional cuisines from across the country.

The famous Saras Ajeevika Mela 2022, focusing on the theme of ‘tourism, tradition, art and culture’, will be organised 2nd time in Noida from 25 February to 13 March 2022 at Noida Haat, Sector 33, NOIDA.

The finest handicraft products of rural India will be at display at the Saras Ajeevika Mela 2022 organised by the Ministry of Rural Development and National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR). More than 300 craftsmen will participate in this exhibition. In this festival, which runs from 25 February to 13 March 2022, more than 300 women craftsmen present in Noida Haat, which are associated with tradition, handicraft and rural culture and self-help groups, along with 160 stalls from more than 25 states. More than 60 cultural programs will be organized. and regional cuisines from across India at the Aajeevika India Food Court.

 

The Saras Ajeevika Mela will showcase the best collection of products of handloom, sarees, dress materials, accessories and handicrafts from different states. Here is the highlight of some of the products which will be exhibited at the Mela.

India Food Court

In the Saras Aajeevika Mela, the important part is, in India Food Court, a group of 80 (entrepreneur) housewives from 18 states across the country will set up stalls of famous regional cuisines of their state, in which the unique taste of regional cuisines of each state will be enjoyed.

Handloom

Kalamkari (AP), Mekhala Chadar (Assam), Cotton and Silk (Bihar), Kosa Saree (Chhattisgarh), Bharat Gunthan and patch work (Gujarat), Tassar Silk and Cotton dress material (Jharkhand), Chanderi and Bagh print (MP), Eri Silk (Meghalaya), Tasar and Bandh Sarees (Odisha), Kachipuram Silk (Tamil Nadu), Poschipuram (Telangana), Paschima (Uttarakhand), Katha, Batak print, Tant and Baluchari (West Bengal).

Handicraft

Pearl Jewellery (AP), Water Hyacinth handbag and Yoga mat (Assam), lacquer bangle, Madhubani painting and Sikki crafts (Bihar),  bell metal products (Chhattisgarh); mud mirror work and Dori work (Gujarat), terracotta (Haryana), tribal jewellery (Jharkhand), Channapatna toys (Karnataka), Sabai grass products and Patachitra on palm leave (Odisha), leather bags, wall hanging, lamp sheds (Telangana), home décor products (Uttar Pradesh), Dokra craft, Sital patti and diversified products (West Bengal).

Natural Food

Natural spices and food products from different states across the country will be available at the dedicated food stalls. Food products like ginger, tea, pulses, coffee, papad, apple jam, pickles will be available for sale at the Mela.

The special highlight of the Saras Ajeevika Mela 2022 will be the dedicated kid’s zone full of fun activities. A wide range of cultural programmes representing various states will also be organised. All the visitors will have to follow a strict covid-19 protocol at the Saras Ajeevika Mela 2022. Wearing of mask and social distancing will be mandatory for all at the Mela premises. Sanitizer machines and regular Sanitization will also be implemented within the Mela premises. Ambulance will be on standby for any emergency services.

A wide range of products from over 25 states will be exhibited and available for sale at the Saras Ajeevika Mela 2022. The Mela is being organised by the Ministry of Rural Development and National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) with an objective to provide an opportunity of earning to the artisans, craftsmen and weavers from rural India, those who lost their livelihood during the Covid-19 lockdown.
