Success of the Meghalaya Pavilion at SIAL Delhi -2019 resounded yet again as the State’s pavilion won a bronze medal in the ‘Best Stand for Food and Drink’ category at the recently concluded ‘World Exhibition Stand Awards. While the finalists were announced on February 17, 2020 during the ‘EuroShop’ — world’s leading retail trade fair at Dusseldorf in Germany, the results were declared in London on June 6, 2020 as there was no possibility of hosting a celebration event due to the ongoing pandemic situation.

However, there is a possibility that the celebration event will be held later this year when the situation eases in England or Germany, stated a release. The ‘World Exhibition Stand Awards’ celebrate the very best in exhibition stand design and experience. It is organized by the ‘Exhibition World’ in partnership with the ‘Global Association of the Exhibition Industry’ and sponsored by leading brands like Aluvision, Octanorm, YSB and Kuehne + Nagel. Every winning entry is included in the ‘World Exhibition Stand Awards Book’. The book will be distributed globally with Exhibition World Magazine during this month. The Head of Events at the top 500 global brands will also receive a copy. As a partner state of SIAL India 2019, ‘The Meghalaya Pavilion’ was designed to reflect the upcoming aspirations of the food processing sector of the State.

Rockski EMG, an Event & Hospitality Agency from Shillong was entrusted with the Project. Keeping in mind the tagline of State Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, ‘Meghalaya on the Move’, a pavilion with a lively setting for 20 entrepreneurs was designed, curated and produced in a space of about 200 Square Meters. The event focused on food processing, food innovation, hospitality and the food-service industry showcasing the ‘Meghalayan Culinary’ experience. Meghalaya was able to showcase its entrepreneurs in an international food exhibition space and how it is moving forward through food processing and value addition of its natural resources. It was a high honour for a regional Indian agency to be awarded on the same platforms with the giants of the Exhibition industry. “Awards are great reaffirmation of the effort put in by our team on audience engagement. The win at World Exhibition Stand Awards is doubly special because of the stiff competition we were up against with agencies that execute for Top MNCs of the World,” commented Jason Manners of Rockski EMG. Chief Minister Sangma has termed it “as a landmark event in the entrepreneurial journey of the state of Meghalaya”.
